9. Board of Directors

Al Maurer
Al lives in Oroville, and has been visiting California State Prisons for years. He has a real burden to share the hope of God’s Word with the incarcerated. He began been meeting with two Butte County Jail inmates as a CJM for months before we brought him onto the ARM board. He has experience with Facebook, and a desire to get the word out about the opportunity we provide local churches and volunteers to make disciples of inmates in Butte County. He has also started a local Celebrate Recovery weekly meeting in his local church. His financial experience allows him to serve us well as our treasurer.
Vanessa Gilmer
Vanessa has been visiting women in the Butte County Jail since 2014, and worked with jail releasees as a Community Mentor before that. She works with adults with disabilities every day, and trains others to do so. She and her husband have opened their Chico home to kids in need, and her compassion for those who need a helping hand shows off her Savior’s love. Vanessa currently serves as our Board Secretary.
Melissa Aggi
Melissa Chairs the ARM Board of Directors, and brings a strong set of administrative skills and experience with her. She currently works as COO of North Valley Developmental Services, where she seeks to live out the love of Christ to her clients and associates since 2007. She and her husband live and serve their church in Chico.
David Avritt
David serves as Vice Chair of the ARM Board of Directors. He brings a wealth of spiritual and administrative experience to our board, with 22 years serving in the US Army, and 41 years serving the Kingdom of God. He has taught, preached, mentored and discipled in schools, jails, churches, military bases and nursing homes. David actively serves on a variety of committees in Chico and Butte County. He is currently on the staff of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, where he serves without salary at his own expense, giving back to his community and his Lord.
