3. Mission and Vision

Mission

To carry God’s message of redemption, reconciliation, and life-transformation through Jesus Christ to inmates, family, and jail workers in Butte County.

  • “To bring good news to the poor…to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives…and to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” (Isaiah 61:1)
Jesus cited this passage as His purpose for coming to earth in Luke 4:17-21.
  • To visit the least of those in prison, as we would Jesus Himself.  (Matthew 25:31-46)

The command given to the church is to make Christ-followers in every place and in every way we can.  As the body of Christ, brothers and sisters in God’s eternal family, we are called to walk in His footsteps, love with His love, and minister to one another and to the world with word and deed.  (John 13:34-35, 14:12 & 21, 15:12-13; James 1:27 & 2:17).

Vision

To see the Christian community in Butte County rise up together across social, ethnic, economic and denominational lines to meet spiritual, emotional and practical needs of inmates, families and staff in Butte County, so that God’s healing and restoration may come to them, to our churches, and to our community.
